Service Description: Map highlighting biologically important areas based on a GIS-based overlay analysis of 59 species/ecosystem components, involving both a differential weighting of species and a differential weighting of the seasonal distribution range of individual species. The map is a yearly average of monthly maps, and besides high biodiversity, it particularly highlights important species/ecosystem components with a limited spatial distribution. Cell values are 5% percentile bins of the overlay analysis sum (red=high/most important, blue= low/least important).
